Fire Element
Fire and water are termed Pitta in Ayurveda. Think of fire and water as ideas or forms of matter. Fire is the idea of light and perception and water is the idea of flow or liquidity. The definition of Pitta is "That which digests things." It's governing action is chemical reactions like digestion.
Pittas' elements are fire (transformation) and water (liquidity).
Pitta Body - Pittas are usually of medium height and build with soft, fair, often freckled skin. They tend to have medium light brown hair or reddish hair that tends to go grey and bald prematurely; small yellowish teeth; a medium-sized mouth; and penetrating eyes.
Pitta Emotions - When Pittas are in balance they are focused, organized, courageous and brave. When they are out of balance they are critical, angry, jealous, intense, and hateful.
Pitta Mind - Concise, sharp, clear, direct, alert, intelligent, good comprehension.
Pitta Internal Tendencies - Strong metabolism, good digestion, strong appetite, unquenchable thirst, sleep well and of medium duration.
Pitta Diseases - Pitta predominate people typically experience inflammatory diseases, skin rashes or irritations, acne, burning sensation, ulcers, fevers, conjunctivitis, colitis, sore throats.
Food and Lifestyle Suggestions
Eat moderately rich foods using cooling spices. Take sweet, astringent and bitter taste and avoid sour, salty and pungent in food or drink. Avoid alcohol and stimulants
A cool, peaceful, joyful environment is most harmonizing for Pitta. Allow for rest and chillin' time. Minimize emotional confrontation and reaction. Avoid heated emotion like anger or jealousy. Use slow deep breathing or chanting meditation.
