Pitta Kitchari is the preferred food to take for Pitta constitutions or imbalances when fasting or while going through cleansing/detox programs such as panchakarma, as it is easy to digest and provides an excellent source of protein that gives strength and vitality. It is also recommended when people are ill and for anyone experiencing delicate digestion.
We make the preparation easy for you by including all the organic ingredients (except optional vegetables)
and instructions you'll need to make this delicious, creamy, healthy meal anytime. This dish can be eaten by anyone anytime, but is especially good for anyone with a Pitta constitution or a Pitta imbalance.
Also, you need to pay attention to Pitta during the summer months. Pitta kitchari is a perfect meal during the warmer months of year or if you are experiencing anger, irritation, inflammation or any heated qualities in the body or mind! Try substituting 1 can of coconut milk in place of water for extra cooling properties. This makes a delicious summer mid-day meal!
